Our Portsmouth, NH client is focused on building solutions that enable millions of users to securely share files with the outside world. Their particular platform provides enterprise security and governance over content exchange, prevents data leaks, and protects against malicious cyber-attacks. The Senior Linux System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and Partners. The Senior Linux System Administrator should demonstrate advanced knowledge in Linux System Administration and familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server and VMWare.  This individual is accountable for all Linux systems in production and development. 
Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little or no advanced notice. Preferred location is Portsmouth, NH or Palo Alto, CA, but we will consider any US location as well.

Key Responsibilities:
Virtual Linux server installation/configuration/optimization running RedHat/CentOS & Debian Linux operating systems
Troubleshooting Linux & Windows servers/workstations
Linux Active Directory (AD) integration
Software installations; configuration & patch management
Software engineering support:  defect tracking (JIRA system administration)
IT automation: scripting (Bash, Powershell, Perl or Python)
Data center infrastructure (UPS, power, cabling, cooling)
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
Contribute to and maintain system standards
Manage network shares and permissions
Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Exchange, and Outlook support
Server hardening strategies & techniques (IPTables, permissions & SELinux)
Research and recommend innovative and, where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks
Maintain operational, configuration, and other procedures
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.  Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required in our virtual environment
Experience with NIST 800-53 highly desirable

Requirements:
Willing and able to participate in on-call rotation and occasional onsite, off-hours tasks
Bachelor's Degree required
5+ year’s Linux system administration experience using RedHat/CentOS or other major Linux distribution.
Occasional travel within the US will be required
