Our client is seeking a fully remote Vice President, Engineering, to focus on developing their internal platform and strategy for an impressive list of diverse clients. In this role, you will lead a large remote (and growing) team of developers and supervise their day-to-day work by providing oversight, guidance, and input. As leader of the division, you will be responsible for ensuring the company is meeting client expectations and adhering to established budgets and timelines. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will offer counsel to the organization’s CEO, participate in business development, and assist in setting company direction, process, and policy, as it relates to your team’s area of expertise.

Responsibilities Include:

Leadership & People Management

Organize and manage technology and interactive strategy groups, including direct reports and freelance contractors.

Review and evaluate team structure and identify ongoing skills needed for growth.

Provide management, training and mentoring for a team of developers.

Ensure successful start-up, development, and completion of client engagements.

Oversee workflow and technical project management for division projects, including forecasting

and resource tracking.

Coordinate workflow between agency departments.

Participate in creative and strategy reviews.

Participate in new business development, assist in responding to RFPs, and proposal development.

Participate in client meetings and presentations as technical subject matter expert, both within

Technical & Subject Matter Expertise

Oversee the development lifecycle, including technical planning, development workflow and quality assurance.

Oversee relationships with vendors and external contractors.

Lead exploration of new and emerging technologies.

Deep understanding of software and systems design, including roadmap development and

About You: 

15+ years of experience with distributed systems development, including 2+ years of management experience.

Demonstrate excellent mentorship, training, and management skills to help drive performance and teamwork.

Demonstrated capacity for proactive problem solving and ability to manage complicated situations.

Experience in implementation of advocacy campaigns, including integrated marketing and

branding campaigns is a plus.

Expertise with full-stack implementation.

Experience with continuous deployment practices and local development.

Experience with hosting (i.e. Pantheon, AWS, and Rackspace).
