The Software Engineer position is based in Portsmouth, NH, and reports to the head of IT.

The Software Engineer position is based in Portsmouth, NH, and reports to the head of IT.
Day to Day:
Write reusable, testable, secure, and efficient code.
Develop, implement, and maintain proprietary applications and solutions across the company.
Integrate proprietary applications with commercial systems.
Take responsibility for testing existing code.
Assist in API and business logic layer development and maintenance tasks.
Research new technologies and frameworks, as well as solutions to technically challenging problems.
Contribute toward enhancing coding and documentation standards.
Work with technical support and customers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Work and closely coordinate with QA during the creation of test plans.
Work independently, in team settings, and in multicultural/multi-region environments.
Participate in product design and brainstorming meetings.
Requirements
4+ years of programming experience.
Skilled in Python, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and SQL.
Solid object-oriented analysis and design skills.
Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
Good understanding of MVC architecture.
Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
Hands on experience with agile practices, like Scrum and TDD.
