Community
At Base36, we believe that a business and the community in which it operates have a special and unique relationship. This relationship is symbiotic and requires effort and compassion to flourish. This is why Base36 proudly sponsors and participates in several programs in southern Maine.
Big Brother/Big Sister – Our work with Big Brother/Big Sister has helped give positive mentorship to children between the ages of 6 and 18. This guidance creates direct and lasting impact on the lives of these children.
Bowdoin Computer Science – Bowdoin College was recently ranked as the 7th best college in the United States by US News and World Report. Base36 is proud to support its outstanding Computer Science department, which is educating young adults for the jobs of tomorrow and bringing talented youth to Maine.
Mom to Mom – Mom to Mom of Maine is a non-profit organization founded in 2000 with the goal of helping Moms assist each other and the community by sharing support, knowledge, and activities. M2M is well known for supporting the community through donations of time and goods to organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, The Root Cellar, and many more. Base36 sponsors their Annual Halloween Party to provide Fall activities at no-cost to their entire membership, offering an exciting opportunity for children and families to have fun.
Base36/SMCC Cycling Team – Cycling both as a sport and recreational activity has grown tremendously in recent years, fueled by Lance Armstrong’s unprecedented seven straight Tour de France victories and by renewed focus on physical fitness in the U.S. Regionally, racers from Base36/SMCC have climbed on to the podium at every level of racing. Locally, group rides and bicycling is at an all time high. Simply put, wherever there are bicycles in the northeast you can now expect to see the familiar jerseys of the Base36/SMCC cycling team.
